I have heard that using ozone as a disinfecting agent has been found to be useful. Is it true?

Ozone gas has been shown to destroy SARS coronavirus and because the composition of the latest 2019-nCoV coronavirus is virtually similar to that of SARS coronavirus, it is fairly fair to conclude that it would also function on the latest coronavirus, but it should be remembered that there are no experiments to date except one currently ongoing in China at the Institute of Virology in Hubei.

Ozone is a natural gas produced by oxygen atoms. The oxygen molecule consists of two oxygen atoms. Through electrical strikes or by the Moon, these oxygen clusters are split into atoms from the corona discharge or from UV radiation.
