I am a 40 year old male who was diagnosed with hypertension recently. Upon receiving the diagnosis i have been taking the prescribed medication regularly. However, i do not know if i'm making any progress in the disease management. So, how often should we go for a medical check-up to the doctor?

If you have stage 1 hypertension and are otherwise healthy, plan to see your physician once every month until you reach your blood pressure goal. However, if you have other health problems or stage 2 hypertension, you should visit your doctor more frequently—typically every two to four weeks.
