Sri Adichunchangiri College of Pharmacy, B.G. Nagara embarked on a programme to assess the knowledge about diabetes among pre-university ((PU) students with the help of questionnaire. This was in sync with the National Pharmacy Week 2016 held between November 21-26, 2016.

On the occasion, a brochure was released in English and Kannada languages related to the theme:’Pharmacists for a Healthy India: Role of Prevention & Management in Diabetes’ at nearby PU Colleges. The programme was inaugurated on 25th November 2016 at the BGS PU College, B.G.Nagara. A presentation was given by Ansha George, Pharm.D Intern based on the theme to 500 plus students. More than 200 students at PU College, Nagamangala & BhakthanathaSwamy Composite PU College also participated.

In all the institutions, the programme came to an end with the MIME Act based on the theme performed by first year students of SACCP: Sachin K, Sachin John, Akhil J, Joseph Varghese, Munaveer K, Akshay Mohan, Mervin C Johnson, Danish Dishan which was narrated by Harikrishnan, student of second year Pharm D, SACCP.

The programme came to an end with a NSS activity in the community to create an awareness about diabetes among the people and also a rally at Bellur to educate the population with the help of pamphlets, slogans and placards.

All staff and students of Department of Pharmacy Practice, SACCP, were actively involved in creating awareness about the diabetes among the students during the programme and it was a great success, said Dr. Meenu Pandey, assistant professor, Department of Clinical Pharmacy, SAC College of Pharmacy, BG Nagara.
