Fellowship Programme for Women Scientists

The fellowship programme supports women scientists who have had a break in their career to bring them into the mainstream of health research. This scheme encourages women scientists to pursue research in identified areas of bio-medical or health research.

Eligibility

• Indian women citizens who are presently unemployed

• Qualifications for Category-A: MD/ MS/ MDS or MBBS/ BDS/ MVSc/ MSc/ MPharma/ MTech or equivalent, with a PhD in a topic related to health research

• Qualifications for Category-B: MBBS/BDS or MSc/ MPharma/ MTech or equivalent with
minimum two years’ experience after the degree

• Age group: 30-50 years, as on the last date of receipt of application (Age relaxation of 5 years for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC and physically challenged category)

• Minimum of 1 year break in career


Support

Category A:

• Fellowship of ₹70,000 per month for Medical applicants
• Fellowship of ₹60,000 per month for Non-medical applicants
• Contingency grant up to ₹10 lakhs per year

Category B:

• Fellowship of ₹55,000 per month for Medical applicants
• Fellowship of ₹50,000 per month for Non-medical applicants
• Contingency grant up to ₹10 lakhs per year


Duration
The fellowship is tenable for a period of three years.

Applications can be submitted online throughout the year.
