Are shipped products and open packages from China safe?

I need a material to be shipped from China to India. Can the virus be transmitted through materials or goods? How to ensure the safety of those of items?
In general, because of poor survivability of these coronaviruses on surfaces, there is likely very low risk of spread from products or packaging that are shipped over a period of days or weeks at ambient temperatures.
Coronaviruses are typically considered most widely propagated by respiratory droplets. There are currently no evidence to endorse COVID-19 transmission of imported goods.
