I am pleasantly surprised to hear about it.
No One Dies Alone (NODA) is a program in the US where volunteers keep watch over those who are dying. When hospital patients who have no one to visit them are in the process of passing away, the volunteers keep vigil at their bedsides by holding their hand, talking to them, or just being present to ensure they won’t be alone in their final moments.
Hats off to such volunteers!!
