Pharm.D Graduate can open a clinic and write prescriptions?

At present, Doctor of Pharmacy graduate is not allowed to write prescriptions, but they can make their intervention on doctors prescriptions if needed for the betterment of the patient. After NMC Bill 2019 - Amendments PCI proposed for Clinical Pharmacist Cadre, Pharmacist may get right to make prescriptions in the near future.

Is there any difference between MBBS and Pharm.D Degree?

MBBS graduates can diagnose and prescribed medications. Pharm.D Graduates more more or less learn all the MBBS subjects except surgery and forensic medicine. But, PharmD curriculum included with Pharmacoeconomics, Pharmacoepidemiology, and Pharmacokinetics as extra subjects. Pharm.D graduates are called as drug experts and they are allowed to practice in the clinical settings to optimize the drug related treatments.

What is the average salary of Pharm.D graduate in India?

At present, Salary of PharmD Ranges from 15 thousand - 45 thousand per month. Salary depends on the field that they choose. E.g Pharmacovigilance Related Jobs offers better Pay Scale than other Sectors like Clinical Pharmacist, Research and Development and etc.

What is the difference between Pharm.D and PhD?

Doctor of Pharmacy ( Pharm.D) is a six year program that mainly focuses on Clinical Pharmacy Serives and its related Pharmacy Practice Activities. It's a Professional Doctorate Degree.

Ph.D is minimum duration is 3 years in India, It focuses mainly on clinical research related works. They will not be involved in classroom learning, but they learn and pursue their research works under the supervision of their project guides. It's a doctorate degree based on research.

After B Pharm, can I study PharmD?
