Storage of Insulin

Store it at room temperature [59 °F (15 °C) to 86 °F (30 °C)] or in the refrigerator [36 °F (2 °C) to 46 °F (8 °C)].Don’t let your insulin freeze or leave it in a hot car.

Check the expiration date on the insulin vial, pen, or cartridge before using it. If it’s past the date, throw it away, even if there’s insulin still in it. When you open a new pen, vial, or cartridge, write the date on it so that you know how long to use it.

Don’t use your insulin if it has particles floating in it or the color doesn’t look normal.
