A chemotherapy regimen is a regimen for chemotherapy, defining the drugs to be used, their dosage, the frequency, and duration of treatments, and other considerations. Some commonly used chemotherapies are;
• R – Chop
• ABVD
• FLOT
• TCHP
• CAPOX
• BEPE
• FOLFIRI
• TC
• HIPIC
• BEACOPP
1. R – Chop Chemotherapy:
Combination: rituximab, cyclophosphamide, hydroxydaunorubicin hydrochloride, vincristine, prednisone Indication: CD20 positive Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Regimen: 21-day cycle for 6 cycles. R - Chop Chemotherapy Protocol—Find Here.
2. ABVD Chemotherapy:
Combination: doxorubicin hydrochloride, bleomycin sulfate, vinblastine sulfate, dacarbazine. Indication: Hodgkin lymphoma, all stages. Regimen: Each cycle of ABVD takes 28 days (4 weeks). ABVD Chemotherapy Protocol—Find Here.
3. FLOT Chemotherapy:
Combination: Fluorouracil, Leucovorin, Oxaliplatin, And Docetaxel. Indication: esophageal cancer, gastric cancer. Regimen: Each cycle of FLOT takes 14 days. FLOT Chemotherapy Protocol—Find Here.
4. TCHP Chemotherapy:
Combination: Docetaxel, Carboplatin, Trastuzumab, And Pertuzumab. Indication: breast cancer with positive HER2/neu receptor. Regimen: chemotherapy typically lasts 3–6 months. TCHP Chemotherapy Protocol—Find Here.
5. CAPOX Chemotherapy:
Combination: capecitabine and oxaliplatin. Indication: colorectal cancer. Regimen: 21-day cycle for 8 cycles. CAPOX Chemotherapy Protocol—Find Here.
6. BEPE Chemotherapy:
Combination: Etoposide, Cisplatin, Bleomycin. Indication: metastatic non-seminomatous germ cell tumors, metastatic seminoma where radiotherapy is not appropriate. Regimen: 21-day cycle. BEPE Chemotherapy Protocol—Find Here.
7. FOLFIRI Chemotherapy:
Combination: Irinotecan, Leucovorin, Fluorouracil. Indication: colorectal cancer. Regimen: Each cycle of treatment lasts 2 weeks (14 days). FOLFIRI Chemotherapy Protocol—Find Here.
8. TC Chemotherapy:
Combination: Docetaxel, Cyclophosphamide. Indication: breast cancer. Regimen: 21 days, Total cycles: 4 cycles. TC Chemotherapy Protocol—Find Here.
9. HIPIC Chemotherapy:
Hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC). HIPEC surgery involves delivering high doses of chemotherapy into the abdomen to treat cancer that has spread beyond the organ from which it originated. Abdominal cancers that have spread to the lining of the abdominal cavity (peritoneum) can be difficult to treat through traditional chemotherapy. HIPEC surgery provides a more effective treatment option.
Indication: HIPEC surgery can treat diseases, fluid build-up and cancers in the abdomen Regimen: Depending on how many tumours need to be removed, the tumour removal portion of the operation can take anywhere from a couple of hours to as many as eight or nine hours, and chemotherapy application takes another two hours. HIPIC Chemotherapy Protocol—Find Here.
10. BEACOPP Chemotherapy:
Combination: bleomycin sulfate, etoposide phosphate, doxorubicin hydrochloride, cyclophosphamide, vincristine sulfate, procarbazine hydrochloride, and prednisone. BEACOPP Chemotherapy Protocol—Find Here.
Indication: Hodgkin's lymphoma. Regimen: BEACOPP over 2 weeks (14 days) or 3 weeks.
