The National Council for Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP) SCRIPT standard was created to allow the electronic transfer of prescription information between pharmacists and prescribers in the United States. The Medicare Modernization Act, which implemented Medicare Part D, requires that HHS determine the e-prescribing standard used for Medicare Part D. Pursuant to this charge, CMS required the health information technology industry to move to a new version of SCRIPT, known as Version 2017071, on January 1, 2020. The updated standard will utilize new data requirements to improve automation capabilities and accommodate previously unmet needs.

During this webinar, learn about the changes and enhancements made to the new version of SCRIPT electronic prescribing. These updates will not only continue to protect patient safety, but also help reduce administration burden on pharmacy and health care professionals.
